Ellie took out her pony tail and allowed her long red hair fall over her shoulders and down her back. She took in a sigh and let Nameless’s statement sink in. He was, well nameless. She raised her brow in confusion and looked at him. “You’re nameless?” she asked hesitantly. “Like, your birth certificate says ‘nameless’ or you do not have a name?” She was confused, how could someone not have a name? How could someone not develop a nickname over the years? “I will think of a name to give you.”
She looked over at him over her shoulder as he put his cup in the sink. “There is no need for that, I will take care of it.” She looked back down at her cup as he asked her the question as to why she allowed a stranger into her home. She thought about her thoughts for a moment, thinking of what she would say and how she would say it. “I think--if someone had allowed me to stay with them when I was first on my feet, my life would have been much different. You’re not my first guest.” She finished the last sip of her tea, standing up, she walked beside him and placed her cup in the sink as well. She looked up at namless’s red eyes, for he was quite a bit taller than she was. She placed her hand onto his shoulder. “I’m going to bed, if you need anything, don't hesitate to wake me up.” She nodded to him and slid her hand down his arm. She walked towards her bedroom, leaving the door slightly open.
It was early in the morning and she woke up before nameless. She quietly snuck past him, him sleeping peacefully on her soft couch, and exited the front door. The birds had just started chirping and the sun was rising, there was enough light she could see. Just like every other morning she went collect water from the river just beside her home. She grabbed her big jug and balanced it on her head, making way to the river near by.Normally she would already be walking to her selling tent, but today, she felt different, she didn’t feel like returning, she felt like something had changed inside her. She began to dip the jug of water into the river where the waterfall flowed into. It was a cold and breezy morning, like early spring morning weather, goosebumps covered her body. The wind pushed through every fiber of her clothing, kissing her skin. She grabbed her heavy jug of water and made her way back to her quiet home.
